Description

You will be transferred from the ship by a colourful local boat to where you will join the waiting motor coach. After a 10’ drive reach the traditional village of Pyrgos. Pyrgos is build on the top of a hill and present a panoramic view of the whole island. The village has a population of 500 inhabitants, and used to be the capital of the island until the early 1800s, It is formed by traditional houses built all around the Venetian castle (view from a distance), and the small streets follow the shape of the hill. The village has many churches: the church of Theotokaki with its beautiful frescoes and old icons; Agia Triada, the churches of Agia Theodosia; Metamorphosi tou Sotira (Transfiguration of the Saviour); Agios Nikolaos; Eisodia tis Theotokou (Presentation of the Virgin Mary) and the Archangel Michael. Your guide will explain many things about the rich ecclesiastical history of the village. After Pyrgos drive a short distance to Fira town, where the new Prehistoric Museum is located. In this remarkable museum you will see artifacts which were excavated at the site of Akrotiri, including the recent discovery of a gold Ibix. Upon completion of the visit at the museum you will proceed to the most northern tip of the island to experience the unique village of Oia. This dramatic small village built on a steep slope of the caldera has many of its dwellings nestled in niches hewn into the volcanic rock. Visit the Naval Museum(optional**) here followed by free time to further explore on your own. As you walk through its narrow cobbled streets, you will come across many tiny shops which offer a varied and unusual collection of hand-made works of ceramic art, paintings and semi-precious jewelry. Oia, perched on the edge of the cliffs offers spectacular views of Fira and the volcano. After your tour, you will be taken to Fira town. Then, enjoy a short cable car ride down to the pier.

Discounts & Supplements

Prices are per person and the entrance fee cost & cable car cost are excluded. We will inform you about the cost of entrance fees & cable car while response your booking request.
A minimum of 2 pax per booking is required. If you are solo traveller, We could charge 2 people price.
There is 50% children discount for ages between 04-12. We do not charge for ages between 00-04.
The tour language is English. You may ask to have another languages speaking guides which will depend on availibility. It is charged extra 90,00 US$ per day for the other languages guided.

If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is no refund.
If cruise ship cancel the stop in Santorini port, there is full refund of your payment.
